Tracking Device???

I’m gonna hope or believe that I’m not the only one who has forgotten where they parked their car?!?!

Sadly this is not the first time for me, but the first time I’ve had to enlist help other than my friends to find my car. This time my friends had already left and I thought I was okay, but, as it would turn out not so much.

Saturday we danced in our last parade of the year in Granite Falls, WA. A small town, but not one I frequent very often. We did the parade and off we went to go eat lunch. Keep in mind at this point we have already gone around a couple different blocks and I thought I knew where I was at. We got to the restaurant and it was way too busy so we decided to head to the next town over. We all head our separate ways to our vehicles. When I got there some friends had parked behind me, but they were already gone.

Now it’s time to try to find my car. I knew we only parked about a block or so away from where we lined up, but for the life of me I could find my car. Two hours later I’m exhausted and my feet hurt. I have no phone or purse as it is in the trunk of my car. The less I have to carry after the parade the better. Now it’s time to go find some help. I walk up to the Pharma-Save and start chatting with some nice ladies who are having a sale outside the store. I tell them about my situation, not sure what they would really be able to do. One of the gals let me borrow her phone, but of course who can remember phone numbers anymore? That is what our phone is for right? When all else fails and exhaustion has taken over time to get the police involved. Not my proudest moment, but I was out of ideas and knew no one in town. I called them and explained my situation. At this point I was able to take a break and sit down inside the store and that was a blessing on my feet. Maybe five or so minutes later a cop showed up in an unmarked. This was also a blessing as I had to ride in the back of the car.

He was (thankfully) a patient and understanding officer. He took me around town until I found my car. Now mind you, had I gone one block over from where we had been dancing I would have found my car. As I stated not my brightest moment. I was thankful to be able to get in and sit down yet again. This is not the first time I have done this. I called my friends to let them know what was going on as they had called me wondering where I was. I gave them a great chuckle as well as some other friends and my mom.

My friends have now made it clear that I need a tracking device or I am just to ride with someone else so this will not be an issue. While at the time I wasn’t too happy as I was exhausted and sore, I can now look back and laugh right along with my friends as they still haven’t stopped laughing about it.

One of these days I will learn, in the mean time it seems I will keep entertaining my friends. I need to learn to keep my phone with me and take a picture of where I park.
